Students cannot apply for this award directly. Students must be nominated by a BC school district, independent school or certified offshore school. School districts and schools determine their own criteria for selecting their nominees. Each school may put forth one student who they feel meet the criteria.
Endorsement by the secondary school principal stating that the student has the academic ability to be successful in a post-secondary educational environment is required. Applications must be received by the Foundation by February 15th of any particular year.
Students who are pursuing a part-time or full-time post-secondary program in BC in Fall and demonstrated involvement in diversity initiatives in their school or community. This award is open to students who have faced challenges like poverty, health, family issues, personal loss and lack of support.
